who's tired?? oh yea, it's me.

The holiday season in retail is always an experience, to say the least. Business has been good and that means we all get to keep our jobs and move forward into a new year armed with the knowledge that our "good 'ol US of A" hasn't quite met her demise just yet. Despite what all the economists proclaimed as the onslaught (as of a year ago) of a recession, consumers have come in droves to buy, buy, buy. Capitalist Santa strikes again.

I will say that people seem to be watching their spending more this year. Under the glow of fluorescent lights, more greenbacks are seeing action than plastic I.O.U.'s. Customers also seem to be more pleasant and less rushed than in previous years. For example, there were fewer stories this year of trampled geriatrics than last year. More "how does this work?" and "what makes product A better than product B?" questions are asked. Also, smiles from both sides of the register are being used with regularity.

In summary, i am exhausted. The shear number of items being purchased this year has boggled the mind and i need a reprise. It's almost over, John...almost.

Now i must foray for all the tangibles and holiday wishes of my family and friends. As much shopping as i have seen thus far, none of it has been accomplished by me, but that's a whole different story.

Oh, sweet, tasty turkey...

Michelle points out that the placement of the napkins indicates the direction food must be passed. So it was written, so it shall be done!
(Thanksgiving is QUITE the experience at our house)

Reilly tells grandpa, "No more playing with my belly!"

I have decided, with each batch of pictures, a new facial contortion must be revealed.

I see a bit of Aiden in this one.

Taking pictures of ourselves is becoming our favorite passtime.

I love this...

and this...

and this...

He was playing Peek-a-Boo

My new all-time favorite of Reilly and Pete.

I am convinced that kid's DVD's are exactly the length of my naps, every single video.

Reilly and grandma

Happy Reilly

"Somebody wipe my chin!"

Surprise?

"Man, that was a really big meal. Gonna have to couch it for a bit."

Reilly sitting up.

Great Thanksgiving through and through. Thanks to everyone, everywhere who is part of my life. You are all wonderful people and i extend my gratitude to you all.

I love Stuffing... =]

BDay Celebration @ Karen and Chuck's

Hippy Barthday

Karen and Chuck were kind enough to host the November BDay bash this year. Mom, Michelle and Pete were all subjected to ridicule and hilarious "roasting". Actually we just ate some cake and watched the kids wear themselves out. Which is always good times.

A new take on "Pig Face"

Reilly is so close to being able to army crawl. He mouthed to me "We lost a lot of really good men out there".

Aiden loves to try and touch the front of your camera. FYI

Who doesn't love upside down baby?

you think you're iPhone is fast?

The FCC has recently announced it will allow "White Space" to be used for wireless broadband purposes. White Space is the frequency between TV stations that is currently unused by broadcasters.

AP Article

When TV ceases to be broadcast over the airwaves in February, a virtual floodgate of available bandwidth will be open for wireless users.

Some mid-day camera testing with the new Nikon D90. Loving the results thus far. It really is the little brother to the D300 and its calling my name. I think Nikon is going to make a mint on me this year...

Colts-Ravens Game 10-12-2008

I received a very generous gift of two free Colts tickets from a good friend's parents. Chuck hadn't been to the brand new Lucas Oil Stadium yet, so i asked if he would like to join me. What a game! The first Win in the new stadium was accompanied by a stunning display of potential from a previously lackluster team. Final score = 31-3.

I shot a new panoramic image inside to match this shot of the RCA (Hoosier) Dome from a few years back.

Will upload the new panoramic as soon as i remember to bring it home from work... yeah.

Here are a few other shots to tide you over in the mean time.

Nick and Sarah across the stadium. Section 111 - Row 1 - Seats 1 and 2.

A nice view from the top courtesy of the Metlife blimp. Take notice of the size difference between the old RCA dome (white building with roof caved in) and Lucas Oil stadium.

Great catch from Marvin, his 2nd touchdown of the game.

Yeah, it was that close...

"What? Oh, i am supposed to keep the helmet on my head while on the field."

Pumpkin Head: A day in the life...

Karen takes a picture of John takes a picture of Karen...

A keen observer, Chuck surveys the patch. 1 pumpkin plus 2 pumpkins = 3 pumpkins. Even on the weekends, he is creating new lesson plans.

Oh, the humanity!!! So many pumpkins are about to meet the blade. The stress was just to much for Michelle.

Unfortunately, Andrea, Pete and the kids couldn't make it for the day's events. Even so, we had a great day/evening and i am looking forward to next year.

Halloween is only a week and half away!
