This is one of my favorite times of years. This spring, however, has been just a bit lackluster. Until tonight. While short lived, the intense cloud structures, large hail, and lighting strikes this evening put a little smile on my face. Enjoy.
And then there's this little guy who took full advantage of the newly trimmed rose bush out front. will keep an eye on him, coud turn out to be a fair-sized web.
I will be the first to say educators are under-payed as compared to many other occupations (*cough* professional athletes). However, providing a bonus for doing the job they are already being paid to complete is money that should be more intelligently budgeted. Apparently, the state board's desire is to see a larger quantity of students graduate rather than be concerned with the quality of the education being provided. Congratulations Indiana Department of Education, you have successfully created a commissioned sales environment. Only the best schools will succeed and since not every school can be the best, some will not even try.
A couple of weekends of arduous labor resulting in a serene, peaceful backyard. the deck and all the concrete has been power-washed, but still requires new paint and sealer. the new trees that we planted need time to grow. quite a few flowering bushes were transplanted and need more time before they are ready to bloom.
we built a temporary staircase for the the new backdoor. speaking of the new backdoor...
i spent yesterday afternoon cleaning and flushing the pipes on the gas grill, then happily made some dynamite burgers for dinner.
